Getting the condensate route right

The black weatherproof condensate discharge pipe exits the rendered wall and is routed diagonally upward, terminating with a specialist air gap cowl designed to prevent freezing and keep the pipe clear of the existing cast-iron soil stack and rainwater downpipes running down the facade. Routing a condensate pipe on an external wall requires careful planning — it must maintain a continuous fall, avoid frost exposure where possible, and not create a nuisance to neighbours or obstruct drainage. External waste pipe and drainage

The black rigid waste pipework was routed along the base of the rendered wall at a continuous downward gradient, connected via a 90-degree elbow joint, and discharged safely into an external gully beneath a metal protective grate. Every section was secured with pipe clips at the correct spacing to prevent movement and maintain the fall to drainage. A blocked or incorrectly pitched waste pipe backs up into the property — often silently, until water appears through a ceiling or wall.

The boiler itself — concealed inside a kitchen cabinet

The Vaillant ecoFIT pure was fitted fully concealed within a custom kitchen cabinet carcass, with neatly arranged copper pipework beneath the chassis, a central brass magnetic system filter protecting against sludge buildup, a condensate drain line configured on the left, and an active wireless thermostat receiver confirming the system was live and communicating correctly. Concealing a boiler inside a kitchen unit is one of the most requested installations we carry out — done correctly, it is invisible, fully compliant, and fully serviceable.
